About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship at the Hampton University Proton Cancer Institute. You will conduct a comparative analysis of patient cycle times, specifically focusing on the duration from initial consultation to the start of treatment for prostate cases.
What you'll do#
- Select 30 simple prostate cases from the first quarter of the prior year and 30 from the current year.
- Review patient charts to identify initial consultation, simulation, and treatment start dates.
- Calculate the number of working days between these milestones.
- Compare average cycle times between the two periods.
- Summarize your findings and offer recommendations to improve patient cycle time.
- Create a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation covering your project outcomes and personal professional development.
- Present your findings during a session with other interns and supervisors.

- Proof of good academic standing.
