About the role#
The R&D Packaging Engineer Intern supports packaging design and testing for medical devices within the Interventional Urology group. You will work alongside development teams to improve product packaging and labeling while helping meet business objectives. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with original packaging design and testing for a range of technologies.
- Identify processing parameters, materials, and equipment requirements for new packaging.
- Specify, design, verify, and validate packaging according to medical regulatory standards.
- Develop packaging specifications and create validation protocols and reports.
- Coordinate and execute packaging and labeling changes for sustaining projects.
- Conduct design of experiments (DOEs) and participate in hands-on problem solving.
- Document experimental test results and maintain project information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS program for Packaging Engineering, having completed at least your junior year.
- Successful completion of foundational engineering coursework.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of packaging materials, equipment, and supplier processes.
- Ability to develop test protocols and synthesize data into technical reports.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis, such as tolerance limit calculations or two-sample t-tests.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proactive approach to work.

- This role is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- The position is on-site and full-time with a rolling term.
