About the role#
Barrett Paving Materials is looking for an Accounting Intern to support our finance team in Middletown, Ohio. This role offers practical experience in financial reporting and business operations within the construction industry. You will work on-site and support our daily accounting functions.
What you'll do#
- Process invoices, expenses, and vendor payments.
- Help prepare financial statements and reports.
- Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
- Enter and maintain data in our accounting systems.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Organize digital and physical financial records.
- Prepare documentation and materials for audits.
- Analyze financial data to support budgeting and forecasting.
- Collaborate with staff on daily accounting tasks.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- An interest in construction, paving, or infrastructure is a plus.
- Familiarity with accounting software is helpful.
