About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in construction operations. You will work under direct supervision to assist project teams with planning, resource management, and cost control. The program includes mentorship and opportunities to apply classroom concepts to real-world business and engineering tasks.
What you'll do#
- Support safety initiatives and follow all company policies, including MSHA, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
- Assist the project team with bid processes, contract development, and project planning meetings.
- Monitor construction project safety, costs, and schedules.
- Coordinate material purchases, deliveries, and tracking.
- Engage in customer relationship maintenance.
- Operate heavy equipment and perform manual or skilled labor tasks as needed.
- Complete assigned projects as part of the internship requirements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving history.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work on your feet for long periods and navigate uneven terrain.
- Previous construction or internship experience is preferred, as is knowledge of take-off and bidding software.
