About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in workplace safety within the aggregates and ready-mix industry. You will gain exposure to safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and risk management while working on projects that support company objectives.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Safety Specialist in implementing and monitoring the company safety program.
- Learn and apply MSHA and OSHA regulations.
- Support safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Compile and analyze safety data to track trends and prepare reports.
- Participate in training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
- Collaborate with regional teams to improve safety culture and practices.
- Complete assigned projects that provide value to both you and the organization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of safety regulations and guidelines, with MSHA or OSHA knowledge preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
