About the role#
The Jr Intern role provides high school students with hands-on experience in branch operations within the farming industry. You will work across various branches and seed hubs, shadowing team members to learn how the business functions. This is a part-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Shadow the Manager, Operations Manager, Sales team, Applicators, and Drivers to understand cooperative operations.
- Assist with inventory logistics and Ag Logistics planning.
- Perform field tasks including soil sampling, field scouting, and identifying weeds or diseases.
- Complete Applicator Licensure Training overview and Asmark safety training.
- Handle packaged products while wearing required personal protective equipment.
- Perform operational tasks alongside the team, excluding the operation of motor vehicles or motorized equipment if under 18.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a high school student.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude when working with customers and employees.
- Commitment to performing tasks safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Capability to meet physical demands like standing, walking, reaching, and stooping.
- Your own transportation to and from the work site.
