About the role#
CHS Inc. is looking for a Logistics Specialist Intern to join our centralized rail transportation group. You will support projects focused on rail logistics process improvement, shipment visibility, and reporting accuracy. You will work with our team to analyze data, understand current workflows, and develop recommendations to support more efficient rail operations.
What you'll do#
- Support a defined rail logistics project focused on shipment visibility, reporting accuracy, or process documentation.
- Gather and organize rail shipment, service, and operational data for project analysis.
- Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Build or update reports, tools, and documentation that help the team work more efficiently.
- Partner with team members to document current workflows and identify improvement opportunities.
- Recommend practical changes based on your findings and team feedback.
- Present your project outcomes and recommendations to the logistics team.
- Maintain a strong safety culture by following all policies and procedures.
- Identify and report workplace hazards or unsafe conditions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Economics, or Agribusiness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to organize data, check for accuracy, and summarize findings.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new systems.
- Interest in transportation, supply chain, agriculture, or rail operations.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, or process improvement.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
