About the role#
This is a summer 2027 internship based in Custar, Ohio. You will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundations of the agronomy industry. The role focuses on gaining hands-on experience in field operations while preparing for a future career in agriculture.
What you'll do#
- Assist with general agronomy functions and field operations.
- Operate equipment and technology for crop monitoring and research.
- Apply crop protection and nutrition products.
- Help with maintenance and repairs for facilities and equipment.
- Visit customers and other locations to build professional relationships.
- Gain experience with inventory control, ordering, and receiving.
- Complete an operational project aimed at improving business efficiencies.
- Submit weekly activity reports.
- Participate in program activities, including an orientation meeting in Bloomington, IL.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certification program at a university, technical college, or community college.
- Good academic standing.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to obtain a commercial applicator license and a CDL, including a valid medical card.
- Capacity to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort working in various weather conditions and at elevated heights.
- Willingness to travel independently and stay overnight when required.
- Readiness to participate in all mandatory training.
