About the role#
As an Agronomy Student Coordinator, you manage a team of regional Crop Technician Interns. You support the team by reviewing scouting reports, providing technical diagnostics, and coordinating field work. This role involves a mix of office duties and field work, with about 60% of your time spent in the office and 40% in the field, training, or on tours. You will work closely with Ag Tech Leads on special projects and participate in weekly professional development activities.
What you'll do#
- Manage regional Crop Technician Interns and provide them with diagnostic support.
- Review scouting reports for accuracy regarding weeds, diseases, insects, growth stages, stand counts, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Check reports for grammatical accuracy.
- Report field observations to Ag Tech Leads.
- Assist with acre completion by scouting fields as needed.
- Attend specialized intern events and weekly meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with a major in Agriculture.
- Previous experience in field scouting.
- A valid driver license, a good driving record, and a reliable vehicle.
- Proficiency with laptops, iPads, GPS software, and field equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors for long periods in various weather conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with little to no supervision.
- A self-motivated approach to learning new concepts quickly.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Wingate, Crawfordsville, or Lafayette, Indiana.
- The role is part-time, paid, and involves 100% travel within the assigned territory.
- Work is both on-site and remote with a flexible schedule.
