    About the role#

    As a Crop Technician Intern, you will perform diagnostic tasks throughout the growing season to help the team make informed field decisions. This role involves significant time in the field and requires a flexible approach to your daily schedule. You will work on-site in Sullivan, Indiana, with your time split between field work, training, and events.

    What you'll do#

    • Scout fields to identify weeds, insects, diseases, growth stages, stand counts, and other anomalies.
    • Create reports on your findings and share them with the Ag Tech team.
    • Fly drones to capture aerial imagery and collect data.
    • Collect corn or soybean tissue samples for testing.
    • Perform soil moisture tests and install monitoring equipment.
    • Collect soil nitrate samples to track nutrient availability.
    • Manage the placement and removal of field signs.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment at an accredited college or university, preferably in an agriculture or agronomy program.
    • Ability to work outdoors for long periods in all types of weather.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to learn new concepts quickly.
    • A self-motivated approach and the ability to work well with little supervision.
    • Comfort using an iPad, GPS software, and various field equipment.
    • A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and a reliable vehicle.
