About the role#
As an Environmental Engineering Intern, you will help promote environmental excellence at Cleveland-Cliffs. You will work on-site to support programs that ensure the company meets regulatory requirements. This role provides hands-on experience in the steel industry, allowing you to work alongside engineering and operational leaders on real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the acquisition, management, and reporting of environmental data.
- Support compliance with the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
- Help with environmental investigations and special projects related to permit requirements.
- Support programs focused on energy efficiency, waste minimization, GHG emissions reduction, and the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Handle various other tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical degree.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.
- Current legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
