About the role#
As a Project Civil Engineering Intern, you will work alongside engineering and operational leaders to solve real-world problems. This role involves managing projects related to equipment and facility improvements within our steel production environment. You will gain professional experience while working on tasks that vary based on your education level and specific plant needs.
What you'll do#
- Identify and recommend the purchase, modification, and improvement of equipment and facilities.
- Manage aspects of cross-functional projects, including tracking costs, schedules, and deliverables.
- Define project scopes and select team members from various disciplines.
- Lead engineering and design work for the installation and retrofit of complex infrastructure.
- Provide troubleshooting support to the Maintenance team.
- Develop departmental standards, processes, and procedures.
- Suggest improvements and support the business through various additional projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.
- Current legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
