About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship within the Controller's group at CITGO. You will support the team with daily accounting tasks and reporting cycles. The internship follows a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Assist with month end and quarter end closing processes.
- Ensure all transactions follow generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Help analysts with daily tasks and accounting transactions.
- Prepare and analyze financial results, including price, volume, and gross margin analysis.
- Compile financial reports for internal and external users.
- Evaluate transactions and suggest modifications where necessary.
- Conduct special projects and provide management with analysis and recommendations for improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting or Finance Bachelor or Graduate degree program.
- At least sophomore status with completion of Beginning and Intermediate Accounting courses.
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher in your Accounting or Finance coursework.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
