About the role#
The CC Buyer Co-op provides procurement support while working under the guidance of a supervisor. You will help initiate vendor vetting, place purchase orders, and negotiate with approved suppliers. This role focuses on obtaining materials at the lowest cost while balancing quality, reliability, and urgency. You will also manage delivery schedules, track shipments, and approve payment invoices.
What you'll do#
- Learn CITGO procurement processes through training modules.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and fulfill their procurement needs.
- Create purchase orders that follow company policies.
- Support logistics by expediting materials, tracking deliveries, and resolving transportation issues.
- Assist the team in issuing requests for proposals and negotiating pricing agreements.
- Maintain supplier relationships by conducting evaluations and addressing performance concerns.
- Perform data analysis on procurement metrics like supplier performance and cost savings.
- Participate in initiatives to improve supply chain and procurement efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or Data Analytics.
- Completion of your freshman year of college.
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Capacity to work well in a team environment.
- Eligibility to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential card.
Location & details#
- Location: Corpus Christi, Texas.
- Schedule: Forty hours per week during the summer and twenty hours per week during the school year.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
