About the role#
As a UI Designer focused on the Design System, you will join the Investor’s Edge User Experience team. This cross-disciplinary group delivers digital experiences for our clients. You will play a key role in evolving and maintaining our design system to ensure consistency, accessibility, and efficiency across our online and mobile platforms. You will collaborate with UI designers and technology teams to develop and document reusable components, patterns, and guidelines.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and documentation of scalable UI components, patterns, and guidelines.
- Ensure design system assets are up to date and accessible to all teams.
- Apply and advocate for design system standards to maintain brand alignment.
- Explore and use AI-powered design tools to improve efficiency and innovation.
- Work closely with designers and developers to ensure implementation of components.
- Provide guidance and support on using the design system effectively.
- Prepare production-ready specs and documentation.
- Articulate design system principles and rationale to peers and stakeholders.
- Manage multiple concurrent objectives and activities.
- Stay current with industry best practices.
What you'll need#
- Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Digital Design, Product Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Proficiency with Figma, including component creation and documentation.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as CSS and HTML.
- Strong visual and interaction design skills with an understanding of layout, composition, typography, color theory, and accessibility.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative, adaptable mindset.
- A portfolio showcasing design system or component library work is a strong asset.
- Experience with design system plugins, tokens, or tools like Storybook is a plus.

- Location: Toronto, Ontario.
- Term: Winter 2027 (8 months).
- Modality: Hybrid (2-3 days per week on-site).
- Employment Type: Full-time, paid internship.
