About the role#
The Controllership group provides finance services to CIBC through governance and decision support. This includes financial and regulatory reporting, accounting records, tax compliance, and performance reviews. As a Business Analyst, you will join the Finance process improvement program and support initiatives across Controllership, Capital Markets, and Wholesale Banking.
What you'll do#
- Assist Middle Office analysts with process maintenance.
- Develop new reports and initiatives.
- Test new systems and databases to ensure accuracy.
- Support Front Office, Risk Management, and Finance teams.
- Interact with business partners across all levels.
- Participate in team meetings and suggest process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in post-secondary education, with plans to return to full-time studies after the term.
- Strong working knowledge of database design and management.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel with VBA and library design.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, PHP, or Python.
- Experience with SQL, VB.net, MS Visio, HTML 5, or C# is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving, writing, and presentation skills.
- Effective communication skills to build relationships with diverse partners.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January to April).
- Work Modality: Hybrid.

- Compensation: Paid internship.
