Chevron is seeking Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Specialists to join the organization. This full-time, paid position is designed for individuals with two years of experience or less who are currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field. Specialists work within teams to ensure exceptional performance regarding health, safety, and environmental standards across operations.
What you'll do#
Responsibilities vary based on the specific focus area but generally include:
- Advising on regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Developing safety procedures, guidelines, and environmental impact assessments.
- Conducting exposure assessments, safety inspections, and audits.
- Preparing control technology assessments and identifying waste management solutions.
- Evaluating ergonomic risks and developing strategies to improve health and safety performance.
- Designing and delivering safety training courses.
What you'll need#
Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Industrial Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, or Occupational Safety and Health.
- Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Civil Engineering (with an environmental emphasis).
- Environmental Sciences (master’s or PhD preferred).
- Safety Science or Geology/Hydrogeology (master’s or PhD preferred).
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. Candidates should have a willingness to work in various domestic and international locations as opportunities arise.

- Locations: Richmond, CA; El Segundo, CA; Bakersfield, CA; Houston, TX; Midland, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; Covington, LA; Belle Chasse, LA; Pascagoula, MS; Pasadena, TX; Greeley, CO; and Ames, IA.
- Compensation: The anticipated salary range is $84,000 – $91,000, determined by degree level and discipline.
- Relocation: Relocation assistance is provided in accordance with company policies.
