About the role#
The Corporate Affairs internship focuses on managing social, political, and reputational risks while engaging the workforce to support business objectives. Interns contribute to strategic advocacy, communications, and social investments to build confidence in the energy industry.
What you'll do#
- Support corporate media relations, employee communications, and executive communications.
- Assist with digital and social media engagement, events, and brand management.
- Track and report on key U.S. and foreign policy issues in specific regions.
- Analyze policy and regulatory issues in countries where the company operates.
- Provide support for advocacy initiatives regarding company positions before government, trade, and third-party organizations.
- Attend briefings and congressional hearings on domestic and foreign policy, legislative, or regulatory matters.
- Prepare responses to outside inquiries regarding company positions on specific issues.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising senior or graduate student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Political Science, Communications, Business Administration, or International Relations.
- Awareness of the implications of the U.S. political structure and the environment in which the energy sector operates.
- Experience in federal or international policy.
- Understanding of legislative and regulatory processes at the state and federal levels.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2026.
- Work is on-site in Houston, Texas, or Washington, D.C.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
