This is a returning internship position designed for students to gain practical experience within an exploration or asset team. You will work on projects with business impact, receive guidance from a dedicated mentor and buddy, and present your work to senior management at the end of the assignment. You will gain exposure to both traditional oil and gas operations and Chevron New Energies.
What you'll do#
- Negotiate with external partners and landowners and draft agreements related to exploration and production.
- Perform title work on exploratory, development, workover, and plug and abandonment wells.
- Provide Land support to multidisciplinary teams to facilitate strategic business decisions.
- Interact with federal and state agencies regarding oil and gas regulatory issues.
- Manage surface land issues including access, water, and fencing.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Political Science, Environmental Engineering, or Economics.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational abilities to manage work efficiently.
- Ability to interpret, draft, and solve problems related to complex contracts and title documents.
- A proactive approach to learning, including the ability to provide and accept professional feedback.
- Strong negotiation skills to build relationships with government agencies, landowners, and external partners.

- Locations: Houston, TX; Midland, TX; Bakersfield, CA; Denver, CO; Greeley, CO; Covington, LA.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $31.75 - $48.00 per hour, depending on discipline, degree level, and academic year.
- Employment status: Full-time, paid internship.
- Note: This position does not offer employment visa sponsorship.
