About the role#
This position provides process engineering support within a nitrogen fertilizer plant. You will work alongside experienced engineers, operations teams, and maintenance staff to improve plant safety, efficiency, and reliability. This role is a paid, full-time opportunity available on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Monitor process units and report on variables that affect capacity, plant efficiency, and safety.
- Evaluate equipment and process performance to reduce plant upsets.
- Troubleshoot issues and develop solutions related to process chemistry and equipment.
- Optimize performance through data analysis, process modeling, and testing.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and scopes of work.
- Participate in safety studies, incident investigations, and management of change processes.
- Support operations and maintenance teams during turnarounds by providing recommendations and performing field inspections.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Chemical Engineering program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability and willingness to collect field data and enter process equipment for inspections.
