About the role#
As an Electrical Engineer Co-op or Intern, you will work on multiple projects to improve plant operations. You will identify opportunities, recommend solutions, and oversee their implementation. This role provides hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Create electrical and instrumentation engineering designs for assigned projects, including developing in-house construction packages.
- Perform field verification of project construction and installed equipment.
- Support I&E technicians and operations staff with daily maintenance tasks to solve plant problems.
- Evaluate site power requirements by performing short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and coordination studies.
- Manage the Management of Change (MOC) process for electrical and instrumentation equipment and coordinate documentation updates with the drafting department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to present ideas effectively through verbal and written communication.
- Skill in communicating with outside vendors and contractors.
- Commitment to a summer internship or a 7 to 8 month co-op assignment.
