About the role#
Cedars-Sinai offers an 8-week ICU Internship Program starting in January 2027. This program takes place in the 6SCCT unit, a 24-bed Cardiac Surgical ICU. You will care for patients who have undergone procedures such as open heart surgery or heart and lung transplants. The internship includes the Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO) program from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Please note that this role requires an 18-month work commitment on the unit following the completion of the internship.
What you'll do#
- Perform careful assessments of critical conditions and plan patient care.
- Provide intensive therapy and intervention, including the operation of life support systems.
- Administer medications and therapeutic agents necessary for treatment.
- Document direct and indirect patient care services accurately and in a timely manner.
- Identify and make adjustments to meet specific patient population needs, including cultural, age, and communication requirements.
- Initiate emergency procedures when indicated.
What you'll need#
- A BSN or higher degree from an accredited nursing program.
- A current California State RN License.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support certification with an expiration date at least 60 days from the hire date.
- At least 1 year of recent acute RN experience.
