About the role#
This internship introduces clinical research within radiation oncology and medical physics. You will learn about human-subject protections, HIPAA requirements, research compliance, and the role of informatics in a clinical setting. The position involves supporting an Institutional Review Board approved study by managing clinical data and observing clinical medical physics practices.
What you'll do#
- Expand and refine an existing clinical data repository.
- Collect, review, organize, and maintain detailed research data.
- Refine methods for anonymizing and de-identifying clinical data.
- Assist with preparing approved data sets for sharing with research collaborators.
- Contribute to the implementation and evaluation of an informatics data-management system.
- Support clinical evaluation activities and develop recommendations for future data collection.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A Bachelor of Science degree is preferred.
- Academic background in Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, Data Science, Computer Science, or Physics is preferred.
