About the role#
WISN-TV offers a paid internship program for the Fall 2026 semester. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The program runs for 10 to 12 weeks and provides exposure to various departments including news, creative services, sports, technical operations, and weather.
What you'll do#
Interns rotate through different station functions to gain hands-on experience. Responsibilities vary by department and include:
- Assisting at the assignment desk to gather news and information.
- Writing and formatting scripts for broadcast.
- Researching and creating content for digital platforms.
- Drafting copy for voice-overs and promotional identifications.
- Helping meteorologists collect critical weather data and information.
What you'll need#
- You must be a Junior or Senior student with a declared major in a related field such as Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, or Public Health.
- You must receive academic credit from an accredited college, university, or trade school.
- Written verification of your enrollment and credit eligibility from your institution is required.
- You must submit a cover letter with your application. Your cover letter must specify your department preference, available dates, and your weekly availability.
