Creative Services Intern

About the role#

WMUR, the ABC affiliate in Manchester, is seeking a Creative Services Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This role provides an opportunity to work within the department responsible for the station's branding and promotional development. Interns will gain professional experience in a broadcast environment while learning the core functions of a television Creative Services team.

What you'll do#

• Draft topical copy for WMUR and the nightly newsmagazine show, Chronicle, as well as other special news segments.
• Observe live newscasts and editing sessions to understand production workflows.
• Assist with the production of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) to support station community initiatives.
• Gain hands-on production experience by participating in promotional and commercial shoots, both in-house and on location.
• Explore the integration of broadcast and digital marketing strategies.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree program related to Communications, Journalism, or Marketing.
• A desire to learn the fundamentals of writing and producing effective promotional content.
• Ability to apply writing and communication skills in a professional setting.
• Interest in understanding the operational responsibilities of a television Creative Services department.
