About the role#
This paid, full-time summer 2026 internship provides hands-on experience within the KOCO newsroom. Interns gain insight into professional broadcast operations by working alongside reporters, producers, and photographers. You will contribute to daily newsroom activities, assist with field production, and participate in the research and information-gathering process.
What you'll do#
- Write stories for newscasts, including vo/spots and packages.
- Assist reporters, producers, and photographers during shoots.
- Log interviews and help coordinate content within the newsroom.
- Support daily newsroom operations and other assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in journalism, supported by relevant college coursework or previous internship experience.
- Ability to react and adapt quickly to breaking news.
- Versatility in handling a wide range of topics and subjects.
- Current knowledge of events and news stories.
- Strong editorial, writing, and technical skills.
