    About the role#

    This paid, hands-on internship provides an opportunity to work within the newsroom of the Oklahoma City ABC affiliate, KOCO. Interns will gain insight into the daily operations of a professional news environment by contributing directly to the news team's efforts.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist reporters, producers, and photographers with field shoots.
    • Write stories for newscasts, including vo/spots and packages.
    • Log interviews and conduct research to gather information for stories.
    • Coordinate content within the newsroom.
    • Support daily newsroom operations as assigned.

    What you'll need#

    • Demonstrated interest in journalism, supported by college coursework or previous internship experience.
    • Strong editorial, writing, and technical skills.
    • Ability to react and adapt quickly to breaking news.
    • Versatility in covering a wide range of topics and subjects.
    • Current knowledge of events and news.
