About the role#
As a Photo Intern, you will join our team to produce visual journalism for the North Texas market. You will work on breaking news and trending stories, helping to shape how our audience understands current issues through photo and video. You will be expected to perform like a staff member, with editors providing feedback on your storytelling, lighting, composition, and editing techniques.
What you'll do#
- Shoot and edit stills and video.
- Write accurate and compelling photo captions.
- Work under tight deadline pressures.
- Use social media for professional purposes.
- Work with editors to develop coverage that resonates with our digital audience.
- Submit images for slideshows and contribute to short- or long-term projects.
What you'll need#
- Technical excellence in photography and a smooth workflow.
- Ability to transmit work on deadline.
- Experience sending smartphone stills or video from live events.
- Ability to occasionally shoot SLR video.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive energy, intelligence, and grace under pressure.
- Attention to detail and big picture vision.
- A valid driver's license and a registered vehicle.
- Current enrollment in a Media Studies or Journalism program.

- This position is based on-site in Dallas, Texas.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
