About the role#
WMUR-TV offers a paid internship within the Engineering and Production department. This program provides students with hands-on experience in a television station environment under the observation of permanent technical operations staff. Interns will gain exposure to daily technical operations and receive training on broadcast equipment.
What you'll do#
- Operate equipment under the supervision of technical staff members.
- Gain a general understanding of production, air operations, engineering, and IT.
- Train on specific aspects of production, including floor directing, wireless camera operation, prompter use, editing, and directing.
- Learn about master control operations and the installation, repair, and support of broadcast systems.
- Rotate through various technical areas before focusing on specific departments for additional training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program with an expected graduation timeline.
- Interest in the fields of production and engineering.
- A cover letter that includes your main objectives, current academic status, available start and end dates, and your preferred areas of interest.

- Location: Manchester, New Hampshire.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Schedule: Internships may consist of up to 24 hours per week. Scheduled days remain consistent from week to week, though daily hours will vary.
