About the role#
This paid internship provides exposure to the technologies and systems used in a modern broadcast environment. You will work alongside the WJCL technology team, which is responsible for designing, installing, managing, and supporting the station's broadcast, information technology, communications, and infrastructure systems. This role is a 10-week, on-site program with a maximum of 24 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Shadow WJCL technology team members to gain hands-on experience.
- Perform daily and project-focused tasks within the technical production environment.
- Participate in structured introductions and training on the station's technological ecosystems.
- Develop an understanding of the skills and theory applicable to broadcast and technology environments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program or a strong interest in broadcasting technology, multimedia production, and streaming.
- Academic background or interest in Electrical Engineering, Communications, Computer Engineering, Media Studies, Computer Science, Journalism, or Business Administration.
- Knowledge of information technology and communications technology.
- Understanding of electrical engineering principles.
