About the role#
This internship provides experience inside a newsroom, focusing on how stories are developed, produced, and delivered across television and digital platforms. Interns contribute to daily operations and build a foundation in broadcast journalism. This role is open to students entering or currently in their junior or senior years at an accredited college or university. The program runs for 10 to 12 weeks with a commitment of 24 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist team members with content gathering and planning.
- Gather and organize press releases, emails, social media, and viewer tips.
- Develop and pitch story ideas.
- Write and format scripts for broadcast.
- Shadow reporters or anchors in the field when available.
- Conduct research and write content for digital platforms including the app and website.
- Assist with photo and video production.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program such as Communications, Journalism, or Media Studies.
- A resume and cover letter in PDF format.
- A letter of recommendation from a professor specifically for this internship program.
- Creative works or writing samples relevant to your areas of interest.
