Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a part-time, fixed-term Assistant Coach for its intercollegiate Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs. This role supports the head coach in managing daily operations and fostering the development of student-athletes within an NCAA Division III environment.
What you'll do#
- Demonstrate competency in sport skill instruction and motivate student-athletes.
- Assist the head coach with the organization and implementation of daily practice sessions and games.
- Recruit potential student-athletes through phone, email, and personal contact.
- Provide support for the personal, academic, and athletic progress of student-athletes.
- Exhibit professional behavior and leadership while collaborating with internal and external partners.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- 1-3 years of athletic coaching experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience demonstrating comparable knowledge.
- Ability to pass a successful background check, including Child Protection Clearances (Act 153) and Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) review.
- Completion of OSHA on-the-job Hazardous Materials Safety Training.
- Authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
