About the role#
Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a part-time, fixed-term Assistant Coach for its intercollegiate Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs. This role supports the head coach in managing team operations and athlete development within an NCAA Division III program.
What you'll do#
- Demonstrate competency in sport skill instruction.
- Assist the head coach with the organization and implementation of daily practice sessions and games.
- Recruit potential student-athletes through phone, email, and personal contact.
- Support the personal, academic, and athletic progress of student-athletes.
- Maintain professional behavior and leadership while pursuing program goals set by the head coach.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1-3 years of athletic coaching experience.
- Ability to pass a background check, including child protection clearances and motor vehicle record checks.
- Relevant majors include Kinesiology, Psychology, Communications, and Business Administration.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as sponsorship is not provided.
