About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Mechanical Engineering Co-op position for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site in New Bremen, Ohio, assisting full-time engineers with the design and development of forklifts and material handling equipment.
What you'll do#
- Create layouts for new designs and select appropriate materials.
- Organize bill of materials data and approve detail drawings.
- Propose hydraulic systems to meet vehicle performance goals.
- Introduce alternate drive train concepts and research new motor designs.
- Perform structural or stability analysis using finite element analysis.
- Run load and stress calculations to ensure design goals are met.
- Analyze failed components to determine the cause of failure.
- Devise and apply validation procedures for new systems.
- Evaluate new components and technologies.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
- A reliable means of transportation.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
