About the role#
The Process Engineer Co-op supports engineering activities at our Innovation Centre. You will work alongside Engineering, Operations, and Technical Development teams to design and implement process unit improvements, analyze run data, and troubleshoot plant operations. This role involves supporting projects from early design through construction and commissioning.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to key process deliverables like H&MBs, PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment datasheets.
- Perform engineering calculations and simulations for piping, valve, and equipment sizing.
- Participate in Process Hazards Assessments, including HAZOPS and What-If Analysis.
- Conduct field checks and inspections for your engineering projects.
- Update technical documentation such as instrument and equipment lists.
- Assist with plant modifications through the Management of Change process.
- Audit current plant documentation to identify and correct outdated files.
- Present technical information and study results to project stakeholders.
- Interface with in-house departments, external partners, and vendors.
- Demonstrate a positive safety culture by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Canadian post-secondary institution, specifically in your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year.
- A focus on Chemical Engineering (B.Eng or equivalent) is preferred.
- A strong grasp of core engineering principles including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat and mass transfer.
- Comfort working in a chemical or plant environment.
- An explorer mindset with a desire to tackle new challenges.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in Squamish, British Columbia.
- The role is a full-time, paid co-op position with an hourly rate of $22-26.
- The term is 8-12 months, starting in September 2026.
- Relocation support is provided, including four weeks of company-paid accommodation.
