About the role#
We are looking for a co-op student to join our IT team in Squamish. You will report to the IT Administrator and provide infrastructure support across our business, engineering, and operations departments. This role involves working with a mix of on-premise, cloud, and industrial systems. You will assist with daily IT operations, including onboarding new employees and resolving technical incidents.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the procurement of IT hardware and maintain inventory records.
- Troubleshoot system and program issues for users.
- Monitor and maintain networks and servers.
- Install, configure, and upgrade hardware and software.
- Implement security protocols and manage user access control.
- Document internal processes and maintain data backups.
- Develop procedures for data retrieval and recovery.
- Train staff on standard hardware and software tools.
- Manage software licenses and support employee onboarding.
- Respond to daily user requests and technical incidents.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a co-op program for Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Engineering.
- Understanding of fundamental IT environment concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to explain complex IT topics to people at any level.
- Ability to balance conflicting goals of various departments.
- A mature and diplomatic approach with negotiation and influencing skills.
- A personal focus on service quality.
- Familiarity with security controls is an asset.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Squamish, British Columbia.
- This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position.
- The term is 8-12 months, starting in September 2026.
