About the role#
Strategic Natural Resource Group is hiring summer students to work alongside experienced professionals in the natural resource industry. You will gain practical experience in your chosen field while receiving mentorship and ongoing career support. This is a full-time, paid position for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Work at remote, rugged sites within the Pacific Northwest.
- Receive regular performance evaluations.
- Build skills in areas such as engineering, timber cruising, silviculture, harvesting, environmental monitoring, or wildland firefighting.
- Follow a career path tailored to your professional goals.
What you'll need#
- Ability to work in physically and mentally challenging remote locations.
- Willingness to train and work with the wildland firefighting crew.
- Flexibility to handle last-minute changes to shifts or projects.
- Full-time availability from May through the end of August.
- Ability to secure your own housing in the community where you are hired.
- Punctuality and the ability to purchase required personal gear.
