About the role#
This is a four-month student work term within the Corporate Development group. You will learn how the company protects its assets, reputation, and environment through risk management and insurance. The role involves working with business units such as Supply Management, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and Legal to understand how risk impacts company operations.
What you'll do#
- Gain foundational knowledge of insurance products and risk management principles.
- Support the review and analysis of contractual insurance provisions.
- Respond to internal inquiries on risk and insurance topics.
- Assist with data collection and analysis for insurance submissions and loss tracking.
- Contribute to presentations, documentation updates, and research projects.
- Learn about the oil and gas industry and the company's thermal, conventional, and oil sands operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance, Business, Law, or Political Science.
- Currently in your 1st or 2nd year of an LLB or JD program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
Location & details#
- Location: Calgary, Alberta (Head Office).
- Term: Winter 2027 (starting January 2027).
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
- Status: Full-time, paid position.
