About the role#
As a Risk Reporting & Contracts Intern, you will join our team to support commercial operations and risk management. You will gain direct exposure to the Canadian crude oil industry, learning how physical transactions and financial derivative instruments function within our trading structures. This is an on-site, full-time, rolling internship based in Calgary.
What you'll do#
- Manage commercial contracts within the Energy Trading and Risk Management system.
- Oversee the full contract lifecycle, from initial data entry and document generation to final execution and system updates.
- Monitor adherence to risk management policies, metrics, and limits to ensure compliance.
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly risk reports for management.
- Reconcile FCM accounts and manage OTC counterparties.
- Capture trader requests and translate them into system updates while maintaining auditability.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Business, Finance, Economics, or Risk Management.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- A goal-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Successful completion of a criminal history background check and reference checks.
