About the role#
This position offers students the chance to work on exploration and development projects. You will analyze subsurface data to help identify reservoirs and characterize properties. The role involves working with seismic waves and anomalies to support business decisions.
What you'll do#
- Perform quality control and interpret well logs and 2D, 3D, and 4D seismic datasets.
- Integrate well and seismic data to build a better understanding of the subsurface.
- Interpret geological features and generate maps.
- Apply data analysis techniques and seismic attributes to identify reservoirs.
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other geophysicists on risk assessment and development planning.
- Prepare and present technical findings to the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Geophysics, or recent graduation from an accredited institution.
- Ability to work both independently and within interdisciplinary teams.
- A sense of ownership and responsibility for project outcomes.
- Motivation to take initiative as a self-starter.
- Physical and mental fitness for work.
Location & details#
- Location: Calgary, Alberta.
- Work Modality: On-site at the head office.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
- Terms: Available for Winter 2027 or Summer 2027 start dates.
- Duration: 4-month or 8-month terms.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
