About the role#
Canada Life is looking for Actuarial Students to join our team in Winnipeg. This is a temporary, full-time position for students currently registered at a Canadian College or University. You must be returning to school after your work term or require this placement to meet graduation requirements. The role is hybrid, requiring you to work from our Winnipeg office 3 days per week.
What you'll do#
As an Actuarial Student, you will work with our professional actuarial team. You will gain experience in several areas, including:
- Pricing and Product Development
- Valuation and Financial Management
- Asset and Liability Management
- Enterprise Risk Management
- Corporate Actuarial, Internal Audit, or Risk and Controls
- Marketing and Customer Insights
We provide a structured mentor program to help you develop your business, interpersonal, and presentation skills. You will also receive support as you work toward becoming a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, including paid exam fees and study days.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a University degree program, preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or Statistics.
- Strong academic performance.
- Demonstrated commitment to the actuarial field through professional exams, education, or similar experience.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Excel, Word, VBA, MS Access, or Moody's AXIS is an asset.
