About the role#
The Policy Development & Support Intern will assist policy directors and support member engagement initiatives. This role focuses on the decarbonization of transportation and the implementation of zero-emission solutions. You will work independently in a remote environment while supporting a team dedicated to clean air and sustainable transportation policy.
What you'll do#
- Research clean transportation topics, including zero-emission vehicle policies, battery technology, utility practices, infrastructure planning, and federal funding programs.
- Prepare presentations, meeting notes, and supporting materials for both internal and external meetings.
- Provide policy analysis and drafting for reports, issue briefs, proposals, case studies, fact sheets, and blog posts.
- Prepare internal policy newsletters.
- Assist with member engagement activities.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least three years of accredited college coursework toward a bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, environmental studies, communications, urban studies, transportation planning, sustainability, business administration, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of environmental, clean energy, and transportation policy.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and accessibly.
- Experience in research and report writing, including summarizing findings and creating presentational materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Location & details#
- Location: Remote (United States).
- Commitment: This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Schedule: Rolling term with a weekly minimum availability of less than 15 hours.
