About the role#
The Policy Development & Support Intern will assist policy directors and support member engagement projects. This role focuses on research, analysis, and content creation related to transportation decarbonization and clean energy solutions.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on clean transportation topics, including zero-emission vehicle policies, battery technology, utility practices, ZEV infrastructure planning, and federal funding programs.
- Prepare presentations, meeting notes, and other materials for internal and external use.
- Provide policy analysis and writing for reports, issue briefs, proposals, case studies, fact sheets, and blogs.
- Prepare internal policy newsletters.
- Assist with member engagement activities.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least three years of undergraduate coursework toward a degree in political science, public policy, environmental studies, communications, urban studies, transportation planning, sustainability, business development, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of environmental, clean energy, and transportation policy.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Experience with research and report writing, including summarizing findings and creating presentational materials.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and task management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

- This is a remote position based in the United States.
- The role is paid and full-time.
- Hiring is conducted on a rolling basis.
- Availability of less than 15 hours per week is required.
