About the role#
This internship focuses on supporting the Clean Mobility Options program and the South Bay Cities Council of Governments Local Travel Network Outreach Plan. You will contribute to transportation decarbonization efforts by assisting with community engagement, administrative logistics, and data synthesis. This is a paid, full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on real-world projects influencing public mobility policy.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the execution of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments Local Travel Network Outreach Plan, including attending in-person events.
- Draft outreach materials such as flyers, presentations, and community feedback tools.
- Coordinate logistics for public events, pop-ups, and engagement activities, including ride-and-drive events.
- Compile and synthesize community input and survey data into summary reports.
- Track outreach activities and stakeholder engagement in a centralized system.
- Provide general planning support for mobility equity initiatives and assist with program administrative tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in urban planning, transportation planning, environmental planning, public policy, community planning, or a related field.
- Completion of at least three years of accredited college or university coursework.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize data.
- Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within internal and external teams.
