About the role#
This internship focuses on supporting the Clean Mobility Options program and the execution of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments Local Travel Network Outreach Plan. You will contribute to mobility equity initiatives and assist in bridging the gap between clean transportation policy and community implementation in Southern California.
What you'll do#
- Execute the South Bay Cities Council of Governments Local Travel Network Outreach Plan, including participation in in-person events.
- Draft outreach materials such as flyers, presentations, and community feedback tools.
- Coordinate logistics for public events, pop-ups, and engagement activities, including ride-and-drive events.
- Compile and synthesize community input and survey data into summary reports and visual products.
- Track outreach activities and stakeholder engagement using a centralized system.
- Provide general planning support for mobility equity initiatives and administrative assistance for the Clean Mobility Options program.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in urban planning, transportation planning, environmental planning, public policy, community planning, or a related field.
- Completion of at least three years of accredited college or university coursework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize data.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
