About the role#
The Health Policy, Research, and Advocacy Intern will provide programmatic and analytical support to the Health Systems Advisor. This role offers exposure to the complex factors influencing health policy at both national and international levels. Interns will work with a mentor to explore ethical issues in global health and learn how to collaborate with coalitions and partner organizations.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research and analysis on topics related to global health and development, including drafting position papers and policy briefs.
- Monitor policy developments and track team activities.
- Analyze state and federal legislation concerning global health, health workers, and communities in low-resourced settings.
- Attend meetings and events to take notes and report findings.
- Research, draft, edit, and format public-facing materials such as talking points and reports.
What you'll need#
- Graduate student status is preferred.
- Academic background in Public Health, Political Science, International Relations, Health Administration, or Economics.
- Knowledge of or interest in global health or foreign policy.
- Familiarity with the federal legislative process.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is a remote, part-time, unpaid internship.
- The term runs for a minimum of 10 weeks from September 14 to November 20, 2026.
- The role requires 20 hours per week, including mandatory attendance on Thursdays from 10am to 2pm ET.
- Five orientation days are required, also scheduled from 10am to 2pm ET.
