About the role#
Global Health Action is seeking a Policy, Research, and Advocacy Intern to provide programmatic, research, and analytical support to the Health Systems Advisor. This role offers exposure to the complex systems and factors influencing health policy at both national and international levels. Interns will observe how policy is shaped and gain experience in legislative advocacy, coalition building, and the coordination of advocacy efforts within an international non-governmental organization.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research and analysis on topics relevant to global health and development, including drafting summary papers and policy briefs.
- Monitor and track policy developments and team activities.
- Analyze state and federal legislation related to global health, development, and health workforce issues.
- Attend meetings and events to take detailed notes and report findings.
- Research, draft, edit, and format public-facing materials such as talking points, briefs, and reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a graduate student is preferred.
- Academic background in Public Health, Political Science, International Relations, Health Administration, or Economics.
- Knowledge of or interest in global health or foreign policy.
- Familiarity with the federal legislative process.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 14 through November 20, 2026).
- Modality: Remote.
- Commitment: 20 hours per week, including mandatory attendance on Thursdays from 10am to 2pm ET.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
