About the role#
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Intern will support the program team by assisting with data cleaning, analysis, and the development of theory of change frameworks. This role offers exposure to ethical issues in global health and collaborative coalition work under the guidance of a mentor. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week for 10 weeks, from September 14 to November 20, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Provide support to staff in advising regional program teams on monitoring, evaluation, and learning efforts.
- Assist in reviewing, cleaning, and analyzing program performance data.
- Support the development of theory of change, logical, and results frameworks during proposal and implementation phases.
- Work to continuously check the quality of data in the database for completeness, relevance, and accuracy.
- Attend all database training sessions to develop skills in data entry, reporting, and maintenance.
- Assist with the development of data collection tools and management dashboards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, or recent graduation.
- Proficiency with Excel, Asana, or other project management software.
- Interest in monitoring and evaluation, databases, and data management processes.
- Relevant academic background in Public Health, International Relations, Sociology, Political Science, or Statistics.
- Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation, and database management is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
- This position is remote and unpaid.
- Mandatory schedule requirements include Thursdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm ET and five orientation days from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm ET.
