About the role#
Global Health Action is seeking an intern to support program monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) efforts. This role involves assisting with data cleaning and analysis from Community Health Assessments conducted by implementing partners. The intern will work under a supervisor focused on mentorship and will gain exposure to ethical issues in global health and collaborative coalition work. This is a minimum 10-week commitment for 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Provide support to staff in advising regional program teams on MEL efforts.
- Assist in reviewing or cleaning program performance data.
- Support the development of theory of change, logical, and results frameworks.
- Support the visualization and analysis of program data and survey research.
- Work to continuously check the quality of data in the database for completeness, relevance, and timeliness.
- Attend all database training opportunities to understand data entry, quality standards, and reporting.
- Follow up with teams on check-in action items.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate.
- Academic background in Public Health, International Relations, Sociology, Political Science, or Statistics.
- Experience with Excel, Asana, or other project management software.
- Interest in monitoring and evaluation, databases, and data management processes.
- Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation, and databases is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 14 through November 20, 2026).
- Modality: Remote (based in the United States).
- Schedule: Minimum 20 hours per week. Mandatory hours include Thursdays from 10am to 2pm ET and five orientation days from 10am to 2pm ET.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
