About the role#
CACI is looking for Software and Network Engineering Interns to join our team in Florham Park, New Jersey for the Summer 2027 term. This is a part-time, on-site internship that begins in May and lasts for 12 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Implement, test, and document software solutions for telecommunications and IP networking equipment within the cyber security domain.
- Collaborate with a product development team to create concepts, find solutions to user requests, and assess technical feasibility.
- Engage in various technical activities including security analysis, software development, system infrastructure work, and software testing.
- Work in a telecommunications development lab using automation tools and test equipment like protocol analyzers.
- Function as a reliable member of a team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a graduating high school senior or an undergraduate or graduate student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Networking, or a related field.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Familiarity with software engineering processes, including requirements reviews, code inspection, system test plan creation, and system validation.
- Experience with development in Windows, Linux, or Unix operating systems.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, or C/C++.
- Ability to use development tools such as editors, compilers, and debuggers.
- Knowledge of IP networking or telecommunications equipment installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Experience debugging system-level issues using lab equipment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher, previous internship experience, and participation in extracurricular activities are preferred but not required.
