About the role#
This summer internship offers exposure to various finance and accounting functions at BWXT. You will rotate through departments including Financial Reporting, Investor Relations, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Business Development, and Internal Controls. Each rotation lasts approximately two weeks.
What you'll do#
- Support Finance and Accounting leadership with operational tasks and special projects.
- Assist with accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll processing.
- Complete non-complex account reconciliations for review by leadership.
- Work with office staff, leaders, and customers to meet their needs.
- Provide customer service to help staff and clients reach their goals.
- Evaluate current systems and suggest process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program focused on Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Ability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
