About the role#
As a Continuous Improvement Intern, you will spend 10 to 12 weeks at our processing plant in Mount Olive, North Carolina. You will work directly with plant teams to analyze operational data and participate in problem-solving activities. This role focuses on how data-driven decisions, standardization, and employee engagement create lasting results in food production.
What you'll do#
- Support initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction.
- Assist with root cause analysis using tools like 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams.
- Support daily management systems, including Tier meetings, visual performance boards, and action tracking.
- Help develop process documentation, standard work updates, visual controls, and operating procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain process improvements.
- Present your findings, recommendations, and project results to plant leadership.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong critical thinking, data analysis, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with team members at all levels.

- Location: Mount Olive, North Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Working conditions: You will work in a manufacturing plant environment with varying temperatures and conditions. The role requires wearing personal protective equipment and may involve exposure to noise levels exceeding 85 DBA. You may be required to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
