About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work with the Live Operations team in one of our Midwest facilities. You will gain hands-on experience in farm operations, research, and poultry management while working alongside farmers, growers, and plant staff. This role is considered safety sensitive.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate and assess farm operations.
- Assist in evaluating husbandry, feeding, ventilation, and lighting for commercial turkeys.
- Assess animal care and well-being policies and practices.
- Develop and conduct live operations research.
- Work directly with animals in a farm environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors, Master, or PhD program in Animal Sciences, Poultry Science, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2030.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Working knowledge of animal care and well-being practices.
- Ability to follow bio-security and animal care policies.
- Interest in working in both indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

- Locations: Harrison, AR; Ozark, AR; or Carthage, MO.
- Work modality: On-site.
- This position requires the use of personal protective equipment and may involve working in environments with high noise levels or varying temperatures.
