Internship

About the role#

Buckner Children and Family Services offers internships within the Family Hope Centers, Foster Care and Adoption, and Family Pathways programs. This is an unpaid, on-site opportunity in Longview, Texas, designed for students to gain experience in the non-profit sector while supporting programs that serve children and families.

What you'll do#

• Support the planning and implementation of activities for children and families.
• Shadow staff and manage specific aspects of a family case.
• Collaborate with team members on planning special year-round events.
• Participate in meetings and team collaborations.
• Perform various clerical duties.
• Fulfill tasks assigned by a staff supervisor and build technical skills related to the non-profit industry.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
• A strong academic record.
• Ability to commit to 16-24 hours per week during business hours, with some evening availability required.
• Comfort working with children and adults of various ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and religious beliefs.
• Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions.
• Access to personal housing and transportation to and from the internship site.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Relevant fields of study include Psychology, Sociology, Human Resources, Public Health, Health Administration, Criminal Justice, Communications, and Political Science.

• Location: Longview, Texas.
• Schedule: Rolling basis, 16-24 hours per week.
• Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
