About the role#
Buckner Children and Family Services is seeking interns to support programs within Foster Care and Adoption and Transition Services. This program provides an opportunity to gain experience in the non-profit sector while contributing to initiatives that support families in the Beaumont community. This is an unpaid internship.
What you'll do#
- Support the planning and implementation of activities for children and families.
- Shadow and manage aspects of a family case.
- Collaborate with team members on planning for special year-round events.
- Participate in meetings and team collaborations.
- Perform clerical duties and tasks assigned by a staff supervisor.
- Develop technical skills related to the non-profit industry.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- A strong academic record.
- Ability to commit to 16 to 24 hours per week during business hours, with some required evening availability.
- Comfort working with children and adults of various ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and religious beliefs.
- Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions.
- Access to personal housing and transportation to and from the internship site.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are preferred but not required.
- Majors considered include Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, Human Resources, and Criminal Justice.
