Buckner Children and Family Services is seeking interns to support our Family Hope Centers and Family Pathways programs in Houston. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in the non-profit sector while contributing to initiatives that support families in the community.
What you'll do#
- Support the planning and implementation of activities for children and families.
- Shadow and manage aspects of a family case.
- Collaborate with team members on planning special year-round events.
- Participate in meetings and team collaborations.
- Perform clerical duties and tasks assigned by staff supervisors.
- Develop technical skills related to non-profit operations and ministry.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Human Resources, or Health Administration.
- A strong academic record.
- Ability to commit to 16-24 hours per week during business hours, with some evening availability.
- Comfort working with children and adults of various ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and religious beliefs.
- Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions.
- Access to personal housing and transportation to and from the assigned internship site.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are preferred but not required.

- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
